Today I met a guy who’s company is on track to become a $1 billion company.
Yes… you read that correctly.
1 billion dollars…
The $10K I paid to join this mastermind was a huuuuuge hit to my bank account, but getting to learn lessons from people who think on a wayyyyyy bigger level has worked wonders in changing my mindset.
(Note: Invest in yourself. It’s worth it 11 times out of 10)
The guy I’m talking about is Mike Danner and he’s the digital marketing genius behind the fast-growing health & wellness company you and I know as Dr. Axe.
And ohhhhh boy lemme tell ya…
I played basketball against Adam Sandler back in college, yet I’ve never “fan girled” like I did today haha..
Mike is an amazing guy that spoke at my mastermind event and I was blown away at how humble and poised he is.
So… I thought I’d send you my top takeaways from what he shared with my group:
Takeaway #1: The #1 key to success is hard work.
You might say “duh” to this one. But being an entrepreneur who’s experienced what an emotional roller coaster business can be… I couldn’t agree more when mike said that there’s no “secret sauce” like we all want.
The key to winning is putting in the work. Period.
Takeaway #2: There’s no amount of time between where you’re at and what you want in life…only a number of attempts.
Mike was really diligent about rapidly testing new products and offers.
It’s one of the ways Dr. Axe was able to grow so quickly…
They didn’t worry about being “perfect” because the best way to grow is to get feedback from the market and refine your offer.
As I like to say… it’s important to “throw spaghetti at the wall and see what sticks.”
Takeaway #3: Don’t be a bad business owner… Go talk to and learn from your customers!
This should go without saying, but I see way too many people get into business and not take the time to truly understand their customers.
How do you expect to provide a premium product that attracts raving fans if you don’t know what problems they’re experiencing?
Take the time to do things like survey your customers or give them a call!
At the end of the day, we’re all in the business of people and it’s our duty to help our tribe solve problems.
That’s it for today… tomorrow I’ll have a bit more downtime to debrief and send you notes from Ryan Deiss (founder of Digital Marketer) and a kickass guy named Shawn Wells who is an expert “biohacker.”
Talk to you tomorrow!
