Don’t Get Gobbled Up…

The other day I say this post in one of the marketing groups on FB:

I saw some pretty awful responses, but the one that ticked me off the most (and also made me last was this one…

“30% would be a phenomenal rate to cold traffic!”

Now you’re probably wondering, “Ok why is that so bad, Austin?”

Here’s why:

If you’re shooting for a “good opt-in rate” you will NEVER make it out alive in this game of entrepreneurship…

“Average” is the enemy of extraordinary.

So here’s how I responded to this post:

Rather than be the “grumpy guy” marketer that doesn’t offer any tangible advice, I wanted to send you tips to help you improve your conversion rates.

These are things that we’re currently doing with our Influencer Partners to get 90%+ opt-in rates…

…and these are tips that you can implement TODAY to help generate more leads and make more sales in your business:

Tip #1: Use Surveys To KICK The “Tire-Kickers”

Implementing surveys has been THE BEST thing I’ve done in my business lately.

Surveys allow you to segment people and literally weed out anyone who isn’t going to pay you.

(whether that be today, a week from now, or a year from now)

Surveys will DRASTICALLY change your business because they allow you to focus on people who actually CARE!

  • Care about themselves enough to willingly get on a VIP waitlist.
  • Care about themselves enough to take action.
  • And care about themselves enough to INVEST (emotionally, financially, etc) in your content & offers.

We recently launched an ASK campaign for a client and saw a 98% opt-in rate and added 331 people to a waitlist for our product launch.

Surveys are powerful. Use them.

Tip #2: Use Social Proof

This should be a no-brainer, but the amount of times I’ve seen pages with NO social proof on them is unreal…

Lemme ask you this:

What’s the most powerful form of advertising?

The answer: Word Of Mouth

People buy from the recommendation of the people they trust each and every day.

Use that as leverage in your business!

My favorite form of social proof to use is Facebook Comments (+ the Facebook ‘Like’ Button).

Tip #3: Check To Make Sure Your Page Is Optimized For Mobile

The #1 killer of conversions is a page that just doesn’t “function” on mobile devices.

If your audience can’t EASILY input their information on your pages, they’ll bounce and go pay your competition.

Make sure you’re triple-checking to make sure your pages not only look good, but also work well on all screen sizes!
