Ahhhhh… the good ol’ “work-life balance” debate…
Austin here and I wanted to get your opinion on something really quickly.
What are your thoughts about balancing work and life as an entrepreneur???
It’s a question that always pops up in the entrepreneur space and I know that a lot of people have varying views on it.
You have the “Gary Vee mentality” of hustle hustle hustle until your face falls off.
Then you have the “digital nomad” mentality of do as little work as possible to get the highest return on your life.
Quick Disclaimer (and backstory):
When I first jumped into online business back in May of 2016, I was a “nut case” in every sense of the phrase…haha.
I would sit in my dad’s basement from about 8am until about 11pm at night with the occasional break here and there to eat and maybe (if I was feeling good) go exercise.
That was my schedule for 10 months and it killed me inside and out…
I’ve been through “hustle mode” and I think to some degree it’s needed for every entrepreneur.
But here’s the deal…
The longer I’m in this game the more I realize how much external factors play into the success of you and your business.
- When I started exercising regularly again, my income grew.
- When I started cutting out quick & easy fast food, my income grew.
- When I started making time to read every day, my income grew.
Are you catching my vibe?
I spent 10 months or so hustling my face off to realize that it’s the EXACT opposite of what I set out to do…
…which was live a life of freedom that allows me to do what I want, when I want, with the people I wanna do things with.
It wasn’t to sit in a cold, dark basement and work until my eyes were bleeding…
“Hustle Mode” can easily get you to where you wanna go faster.
BUT, you have to make sure your strategy matches your hustle otherwise you’re gonna lose a lot of time, spin your wheels, and burn out quickly!
>>> When you find a way to make room for the “personal development” side of things to come into play, I (personally) think it’s a way better way to build SUSTAINABILITY into your life as an entrepreneur.
What do you think?
I’d love for you to reply and lemme know because I’m always curious how other entrepreneurs are fighting their battles 🙂
Cheers To Your Success,
